What members commit to
A brief statement of principles drawn from the Season for Nonviolence and the joint work of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. King. The text is plain. The practice is everything.
- To pursue nonviolence in thought, in speech, and in action, beginning with the small decisions of each day.
- To observe the Season for Nonviolence each year, January 30 through April 4, in whatever way fits your life and community.
- To learn the history honestly, including the parts where the movement failed and the parts where it succeeded against expectations.
- To welcome others into the practice without requiring they share your faith, politics, or background.
Membership tiers
Free membership is the baseline. Supporting tiers help fund the Peace News desk, the archive, and the chapter-formation work. All tiers receive the same statement of principles, the same vote on annual Season for Nonviolence themes, and the same welcome.

- Public member roll: opt-in directory of members worldwide
- Voting on the year's Season theme: members shape the practice the center holds during the 64-day calendar
- Recurring contributions: monthly and annual giving, automatic tax receipts, donor-recognition tiers
- Member-only programming: quarterly board letters, behind-the-scenes archive material, advance access to Gandhi Legacy Tour seats
